This guy doesn’t sound very nice and would be my definiton of a player. Stop all talking and flirty behaviour with him at once, show him that you can stand up for yourself. If he cares to ask you, explain to him why you don’t want to talk to him anymore. The best way to see if a guy is genuinely interested in you, is to step away and give them space. You will know if it was meant to be if he comes back to you, otherwise forget about him. You don’t need to worry over people like that. Best of luck!
