THE LOVE GURU

This blog is dedicated to all those hopeless romantics out there who never stopped believing in love.

Anonymous asked: I have been dating a girl for a little over a year. When we first started, we lived down the street from each other, now she lives 1 hour away of school and we make it work. We both love each other very much. She has been talking about moving somewhere else after school next summer. We both don't want to move in together or get married, we are serious but not too serious. She wants to move somewhere NOT where I am, and i don't want to drop my life here to move near her. We have a problem and aren't sure if we should break up now to alleviate the stress later, knowing we will eventually separate OR do we date until next summer, then talk about it more?

How do we approach this?
Do we talk about the future now?
Do we break up now and still be in love, but it will be ok later in the future?

Thanks

It’s sad to hear that distance can get in the way of such a loving relationship. Knowing that eventually you won’t be together any more can be very distressing but if you know for a fact she’s moving away, enjoy the time you have with her until that day comes.

Think of it this way, either way you will have to go through the hurt of leaving her but at least you got to spend more time with her, treating her right and being happy. Don’t rule it out completely though, it is necessary for both of to talk about your feelings. In the future, you will know that you had this great relationship and it will still be very special to both of you.

Even though you may not be able to see her, I’m sure she will be thinking of you everyday at how well you took it and stayed by her side as long as you could. Stay strong, and whenever you’re feeling unsure, follow what’s inside.
